How Max HP stores your log.

Max HP, the GLP‑1 dose tracker for iPhone, keeps your log on your iPhone and never sends your health data to us. This page lists every place your data can be, what leaves the phone, and how to remove it. The privacy policy is the formal version.

Your iPhone backup: Fully private or Private + backup

iPhone backups include app data unless an app leaves it out. Max HP asks you at setup, and you can change it any time in Settings › Your data.

  • Fully private (the default)Max HP marks its storage to be left out of every backup. Your log exists only on this iPhone. Before you change phones, save an archive in Settings › Your data, with a password if you like.
  • Private + backupYour log is in your iPhone backup, on your Mac or PC, or in iCloud Backup if it’s on. Restoring a new iPhone from that backup brings Max HP across.

How iCloud Backup stores and protects your backup is up to Apple, and depends on your settings, such as Advanced Data Protection. Apple explains it in What does iCloud back up? and iCloud data security overview.

What Max HP sends

Only anonymous usage counts, through TelemetryDeck, to help keep the app working:

  • that the app was opened, and the app and iOS version
  • which setup steps were seen, and whether setup finished
  • whether a Step Review, report, share card or the paywall was opened
  • purchase and trial events, and whether a permission was allowed

Never a dose, check‑in, weight, symptom, injection site, note or medication name, and never that a dose was taken. Each count carries a random install identifier, hashed on your iPhone. Switch them off in Settings › Privacy › Share anonymous usage.

There are no ads, no advertising identifiers, no crash-reporting service and no tracking across apps or websites.

What we can’t do

Because your log never reaches us, we can’t look it up, restore it, merge it across devices or answer a request to hand it over. For the same reason, a breach at our end has nothing of yours to lose.

How to remove everything

  • Erase everythingSettings › Your data › Erase everything deletes Max HP’s storage on your iPhone, including archives saved inside the app. You can choose to delete Max HP’s entries from Apple Health too.
  • Delete the appRemoves Max HP’s storage from your iPhone.
  • What staysOlder iPhone backups, archives and exports you saved elsewhere, and Apple Health entries you didn’t delete. Remove those where they are.

Questions

Does Max HP back up my GLP‑1 log to iCloud?
Max HP doesn’t sync to iCloud. With Private + backup, your log is included in your iPhone backup, which can be iCloud Backup. With Fully private, it’s left out of every backup.
Which backup choice is more private?
Fully private: the log is only on your iPhone. Private + backup is more forgiving: a lost or broken phone can be restored from a backup. Either way, Max HP never receives your log.
Is the archive encrypted?
If you give it a password, yes. The archive is sealed with AES-GCM, using a key made from your password. Without a password, it’s a plain file you can read.
Does Max HP work offline?
Yes. Logging, reminders, charts and reports don’t need a connection, because nothing is sent to a server.
Can I check this myself?
On your iPhone, Settings › Privacy & Security › App Privacy Report shows which domains each app contacts. For Max HP, that’s TelemetryDeck, unless you switch usage counts off.
